The Setting

There is only the city. The chosen were spared the flooding of an unworthy world for their faith in the Immortal God King. In the five centuries since the first storms came, Talroun has prospered under the God King’s iron law: the deserving will show themselves by their success, rising to the top, while the undeserving fail.

The Characters

Your insurmountable debts—marked in a crown of ink across your brow—identify you as less than worthless, a failure in the eyes of the Immortal God King. The teachings of the city say it is all that you deserve. But you will not accept this judgment. You will prove them wrong. To change the city, and with it your future, you will need power. But what form will your power take?

The Crew

Some in Talroun say that power corrupts those who seek it. Others claim that it simply reveals the true nature of its wielder. Both are wrong. In the city of the chosen, power delivers on its promise—a truth that no authority can defy. Your choice of crew will give you the power to shape the city, but it will shape you in return.

Path of the Syndicate

The city is wrong about who is worthy.
Climb the ranks through the use of close ties, loyalty and intimidation.

Path of the Collective

The city is wrong to designate people as worthy and unworthy.
Band together with your fellow dispossessed to defy the iron law itself.

Path of the Cult

The city’s false justice is nothing to the even handed indifference of the sea.
Use the favor of the dark sea to work around the limitations the Immortal God King imposes.

Future Updates

The Iron Law is a complete and fully playable version of the game, but there is more planned content that will be arriving in future updates. All additions made in future versions will be available for free to everyone who owns a copy.
